Welcome to the Black Horse Inn Climping

The Black Horse Inn, formely a smugglers Inn, is a traditional pub and restaurant dating back to the 18th century. Situated in the quaint village of Climping and within only 5 minutes walking distance of the local beach the pub offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with a wide variety of fresh dishes and quality wines. We have an open log fireplace in the colder months for cosy winter dining or come and relax and unwind on our new terrace in the summer months. Food is served both lunchtimes and evenings, seven days a week offering tradional favourites, fresh fish and a variety of steaks.

We cater for all special occasions whether it be an anniversary, a birthday celebration or a wedding reception. For large groups or parties we can close off one of the main seating areas for a more intimate venue which can then be decoarated to suit the occasion. If you are looking for the ideal venue for a celebration or a business event, we would be more than happy to show you our three main seating areas rooms and discuss numbers and menu options.

We do not provide accommodation at the Black Horse but would recommend a stay at Derwent House, a quality bed and breakfast owned by the hospitable Jon and Julia.
